Real Integrated Benefits Scheme (RIBS) is Nigeria’s first ever social welfare benefit and economic empowerment sustainable product targeted at the entire population of Nigeria as well as visitors in the country using the critical importance of “ribs” in the human anatomy to underscore its economic and social importance to everyone.

What are the benefits of subscribing to RIBS?

The various social welfare and economic empowerment benefits available to subscribers on RIBS platform upon application for subscribers who have been consistently active on the scheme for a stipulated period of time.

What are the list of RIBS benefits?

The living benefits includes Education support, Business support, Vehicles Trade-in, Hospital Bill support, property ownership, Student Loan, Job Loss, After-work benefit and Organizational support benefit.

What are the things not included in RIBS benefit?

Vehicle that does not belong to subscriber cannot be traded-in; False applications or claims, Job losses arising from employee’s disengagement caused by misconduct, carelessness, incompetency or mismanagement of resources, theft, corruption and the likes, Forged claims, Applications that does not meet RIBS terms and conditions

How do I qualify for RIBS benefit?

Eligibility for RIBS benefit requires that you be active on the scheme for a stipulated period of time as specified in the RIBS service booklet.

Must my business be registered before I can apply for business support benefit?

No, your business must not be registered before you can apply for business support benefit. In the case where your business is registered, all relevant document to support claim of legitimate registration must be uploaded during the application process for verification purpose.

How can I get RIBS service booklet?

The RIBS service booklet is available for download for free on our website and copies are also available for preview at the National library.

How can I become a subscriber on RIBS?

You can become a subscriber by activating an account for free on our website or via our mobile app.

How can I recharge my RIBS ID subscription?

You can recharge your RIBS ID subscription with your debit card using the RIBS WEBpay on our website or Mobile app. You can also use the USSD to recharge directly from your phone.

How can I get the RIBS mobile app?

You can get the RIBS mobile app by downloading it for free online from the various app store.

Can I recharge my RIBS ID subscription without having access to the internet?

Yes you can recharge your RIBS ID subscription without having internet access using USSD.

What are the recharge denominations available?

The recharge denominations available are N1000 valid for 30 days and N6000 valid for 6 months.

How much time do I have to recharge my ID subscription after the expiration of my subscription?

You have 24 hours grace period to renew your account subscription after it has expired.

What happens to my account if I fail to renew my subscription after it expires?

If you fail to renew your account subscription after 24 hours of its expiration, your account becomes inactive.

Can I renew the subscription of my account before the expiration date?

You can only renew your subscription 24 hours to the expiration of the current subscription.

Can I operate multiple accounts on RIBS?

No, you are not allowed to operate multiple accounts.

Can I transfer ownership of my account?

The account of a subscriber is not transferable under any circumstance.

Can I apply for benefit anytime?

No, application for benefits opens every first two (2) weeks of November yearly (i.e. 1st - 14th November) as such, you can only apply for benefit when the portal is opened for application.

How many living benefit can I apply for at a time?

You can apply for ONLY ONE benefit at a time.

Can I apply for benefit, having previously received one?

Yes, provided you are active you can apply for a living benefit every other year, irrespective of receiving one in the past.

What Happens if my application is NOT approved?

You can apply the following year, provided you're CONSISTENTLY ACTIVE within the period.

Are RIBS benefits Transferable?

The Subscription and Benefits granted to a Subscriber as provided by RIBS are not transferable under any circumstance and shall be accessed only by the Subscriber except at the instance of Death, where a Next of Kin will become the Beneficiary.
Where it is discovered that a subscriber have transferred his/her benefit to a third party, such act shall be regarded as a breach on the terms and conditions of RIBS. The subscriber shall be made to return such benefit or pay the equivalent value in cash (money) in case of intangible benefits. Where the offender refuses to return the benefit or pay it's equivalent value, the offender (Subscriber) shall be prosecuted and shall bear the cost of prosecution.

Must I continue on the scheme after receiving benefits?

You MUST continue on the scheme after you receive benefit.

What happens if I discontinue with scheme after receiving benefit?

Where it is discovered that a subscriber had discontinued with scheme after receiving benefit, such act shall be regarded as a breach on the terms and conditions of RIBS. The subscriber shall be made to return such benefit or pay the equivalent value in cash (money) in case of intangible benefits. Where the offender refuses to return the benefit or pay it's equivalent value, the offender (Subscriber) shall be prosecuted and shall bear the cost of prosecution.

How can I become a RIBS Agent?

You can become a RIBS agent by registering on our website.

Is there an age limit to becoming a subscriber on RIBS?

Eligibility to become a subscriber is not restricted by age. Anyone regardless of his/her age can activate an account with RIBS.

Can I activate IDs for my relatives?

Yes, you can activate accounts for your relatives provided they are alive.

Is RIBS an insurance scheme?

No, RIBS is not an insurance scheme. RIBS is a social benefit scheme. As a social benefit scheme, its sole aim is to improve the welfare of a particular group of people and in this case Nigerians and foreign visitors.

How is RIBS different from insurance scheme?

It is a social benefit scheme.
In cases of mishap while using the road, insurance caters for the mode of transportation such as car, motorcycle, tricycle etc., while RIBS caters for the road user only.
Whether there is a mishap or not, RIBS also offers Benefits annually to subscribers who meet the criteria as stipulated in the service booklet.
The benefits are not subsidized, beneficiaries get the whole benefit package.

What should I do when am having difficulty recharging my ID Subscription or need more clarifications?
